Last of the 2nd Day of Spring Photo Walk Posts (for now)

Actually I was playing with DOF quite a bit that day. One of the things I love about my DSLR - I can actually do that kind of thing. Oh joy! Literally. My camera gives me so much joy.

I hope you enjoy them too.

Another Spring Flower - Not Sure What This One Is

It was very close to the ground. I wish I remembered where I'd taken it so I could go back and look at it all flowered out.

More Spring Flower Walk

Sometimes the prettier I find a flower the more difficult I find it to make a photo that pleases my eye. These are OK. I love the camelia's trees around here. So colorful for this early in the season. Hope you enjoy them too.

Not A Spring Flower - but Herself Instead

My girl has just so been on my mind, and for some reason this picture really reminds me of her, so I posted it instead. She's eating bo-bo crackers. (Ritz crackers with peanut butter)

Today's Spring Flower Photo

So its full blown chicken pox. Having never had them myself, I am doing everything in my power to avoid getting infected myself. But the worst part is this weekend is my sister's Baby Shower. I will be home missing the festivities.

A Windy Spring Day With Sun

I went for a walk around the neighborhood looking for blooming flowers. Nothing planted like posies but real bloomers. And found a bunch (excuse the pun.)

So that is whats up for this week. Second Day Of Spring Flower Photo Walk.

The Thinker

I had a burst of photo inspiration this evening. Maybe it was the sun streaming in my wondows at 6:30 in the evening (always a good thing), maybe it was the flowers I bought last week are going to be dead in a few days, not sure but I took 86 photos in less than half an hour. Some color, some black and white, things, flowers, girl, and ME which I never do, I've neve set out to do a self-portrait but I decided a week ago or so I wanted a photo taken specifically for an avatar that shows that I my camera is a big part of my life.

So - what do you think of my new profile photo? I used the same one on twitter.

Oh, and Herself took several photos too. Fun!

The Office

I was sitting at the front desk when my new lens came in and this was the first photo I took with it. For some odd reason, I like it.

greeblepix Entry March 2009

Click on the photo to see a larger version. I posted this photo waaay back when, but have always loved it, so I decided to enter it for this months greeblepix contest over at Awesome Aimee's greeblmonkey website. Go HERE to see the rest of the entries. Thanks Aimee.
This shot is SOOC except for slight cropping at the top and the bottom. I use a Canon Digital Rebel XTi and I love it. I publish a new photo everyday so feel free to follow me (its easy in the upper right hand corner) and check them out!
Funny that a lucky shot would be the theme - I didn't even know that when I posted this.
We were at Copalis Beach early last summer. My daughter had entered the stage where she does NOT want to get her picture taken and refuses to cooperate. This was the culmination of her walking towards me showing me the sand on her face and shoes and pants and hands and I was shooting and shooting and shooting hoping something would turn out.
Great theme.

Super Cropped

I'm not sure what kind of plant this will blossom into, however I do like them as buds. And I really like the vivid green. I'm a big fan of green.

I Must Be Hungry

Because I am looking at this photo and suddenly craving turkey really badly.
This is from Thanksgiving in Minneapolis.

I've Memed Myself Because I Didn't Know Where To Turn....

But I played with it a little. Didn't like the original color photo, didn't care for the black and white conversion, so I dropped the Hue and Saturation a bit to this slightly colored version.
And I quite like it. (btw - I've seen this photo meme wandering about the blogs and this is the 6th photo in my 6th photo folder)

Flash vs. No Flash (inspired by Dr Cason)

You can totally see which one is flash vs. no flash. Using a tripod this time.
I did take both photos in color so they've been converted to Black and White, but other than correcting for whiteness using the same spot on both photos (and over looking how icky I look in the second one) I just love the contrast between the two pictures. One you can see how dark it was getting, the other looks more like what you see with the naked eye.
Anyway, just wanted to share. And to thanks Sheila who inspired me for this post.

The Eyes Have It

This picture turned out a little strange. Only work I did on it was convert to B/W - the color was a little too pale but that brought out a little more contrast. Love the freckles. Oh, and I love that you he doesn't have any boogers in his nose. hee-hee

Toys Arranged

Himself likes to make arrangments of toys and they're all playing together and stuff. Used my new Macro lens and 8" tripod in the natural light for this one.

Sometimes I like a little blurry

It just makes Herself seem more animated.

I'll Admit - I Like the Looks of Urban Decay

Except when its MY GARAGE. Someday we'll fix it up. For now, it serves its purpose.
But how nice is that fence? Nice right? Oh yeah it is.

Not as cool as the other one, but still pretty neat IMO.
