First when I was on maternity leave, then when I was unemployed, I walked like 3 or 4 miles (and sometimes more) almost every day. Mostly around my neighborhood. One of my biggest pet peeves was people who didn't trim the plant matter covering the Sidewalks. Grass, bushes, shrubs, hedges, flowers, vines, anything green. I dreamed of passing out notes saying they were in violation of some municipal code or other and that they had to trim or pay a fine. Dreamed of it I tell ya!
However, now I am a violator. My Rose of Sharon gets a trim in the spring, but by the time it grows out in late summer I'm afraid to trim it because I'll trim all the blossoms off. And so, my Rose of Sharon is impeding progress of those unwary and unsuspecting pedestrians. To you, I apologize. Really. and when its done blooming, I will trim it!

Leaf Me Alone (part 2)
I love the colors of the Maple trees. Unfortunately the one in my front yard goes from green to yellow to brown in about 2 days. Ah well. I do have really nice Japanese Maple in the backyard.

Curvaceous Cruiser
I love black and white photography. Bet you thought I wouldn't make it today - its 10:00 PM on the West Coast, and its almost my bed time. But I can't let my swell readers down, no way, no how.

Ex-Bridge
Bridge with an X. Every day when I'm driving home from work, I'm dying to pull over on the side of the road with my camera. Of course its a freeway so I'd probably get in trouble. But still, I'm trying to figure out how to get those shots.

Need A Little Summer....
Right this very minute. Holy crap its already f'ing cold, dreary, windy. I Hate It. I pretty much expect to be cold until maybe late June of '09. Not Kidding. Except in the car where I crank the heat. I wore gloves to drive this morning, it was 42 degrees when we left the house.

Old Buildings
Broken down ones, old decrepit falling apart. There's a certain aesthetic that appeals to me. This one isn't actually that great but the photo as a whole I do like.

Daisy Daisy Give Me Your Answer True....
I'm half crazy all for the love of you...
I really do like daisies (ok, what is the plural of daisy? Both ways I typed it don't look correct.) Even had them in my bridal boquet. Nice boquet it was. Hope you like this one.

Talk Like A Pirate Day
What do you get if you mix rain boots, momma's blouse, daddy's wool muffler, and a dishtowel? How about a picture of my littlest pirate? That was a fun Halloween (2006.)

Pampas Grass
There used to be a fussy woman who lived down the street from me, and when her clump of pampas grass got to be big and beautiful - she'd post a sign in front of it warning people DANGER-Don't Pick The Pampas Grass - Its Sharp or something like that. She actually put DANGER on the sign. It was kind of funny.

Too Cool for School
This girl loves to wear sunglasses. Indoors and out. Today at Costco she wore them the entire time inside. Funny comments from strangers too.

Popping my Meme Cherry......
I've been tagged by TXPoppet to (originally as seen on Hotfessional TV) List 5 current addictions according to your 5 senses and then tag 2 people.
Sight - watching my daughter sleep. I put her down at night and I just stand there and watch her sleep. 'Nuff said on that one.
Sound - Kathleen Battle singing Mozart's Allelulia. Brings tears to my eyes every time. And I only listen when the time is exactly correct. Stunning music. Chilling piece of work. Amazing.
That, and the sound of a dry clutch in a Ducati Monster. Nothing like it.
Smell - During the heat of summer, the smell of the sidewalks and streets when it rains for the first time in several days. I will race out of my house or work or wherever I happen to be when I see it starting to rain, and just stand there and sniff. Gently, slightly, sparingly, if you try too hard to catch it it diminishes. Then I stop, and start again. Its simply wonderful and unique.
Touch - I love the feel of my apple green pointy toed pumps by Carlos. I put them on and I feel like the queen of the world. They're tall and sassy and even with 3-1/2 inch heels, suprisingly comfortable. I'd wear them grocery shopping if I could but the insides are starting to fall apart so I'm saving them a bit.
Taste - Lagavullin. Its a Single Malt Scotch from the Islay region. Done just right, its perfect. It has to be room temperature - low to mid-60's or so. Pour in glass with one ice cube, swirl around a bit, and remove the rest of the ice cube. Then sniff, and sip, and sip, and sip, and sip and now I need another one. mmmmm....
One thing I've realized while writing about my addictions. I only want to- by choice or by chance or by circumstances, enjoy them in small bits, but its enough. And leaves me wanting more. Until the next wonderful time. Well, except for the shoes. I have a small shoe problem. Of course I don't really see it as a "problem" but... I really like shoes.
So I'm tagging Mz. Nesbit who loves Memes like no ones business. And makes me laugh with every post.
And aimee greeblemonkey who got me into blogging and is so talented and wonderful and supportive in many many ways.
Thanks Poppet. This was fun. oh, and I should add a photo or two just because this is a photo blog.

Meeting of the Minds
My Pop and Herself. They hit it off immediately last time my parents were in town. Must be because he's the oldest, and she's the youngest.

Sunny Waterfront Day
I remember when the actual factory was here - went climbing around in it quite a few times. But I don't know, 5 or 7 or maybe longer? years ago they tore everything down and turned it into a waterfront park. Very cool place to hang around and play, with Son.

First Day of School!
He did so well! Mom was the one who got choked up walking up to the Big Brick Building where I would be saying Good Bye to my little one, and picking up a Big Boy Kindergarten-er. Hubby and I were hanging around until the last minute and Himself was practically pushing us out the door. He looked so cute with his Power Rangers backpack and Ramones lunchbox. Just one more stage of letting go. My Big Boy. Damn I love that kid.

Birch Tree In My Neighborhood
Growing up we used to peel birch bark and try to write and draw on it like it was paper. Little did we know how apt that was. Not too many birch trees in Western WA, but its nice to have a few nearby.

Bye-Bye Summer!
Thanks for the memories. And the 70 degree days, too many of them! Guess its just one of those Pacific Northwest summers. We had fun, but could have stood for a few more 80 degree days.
