Reaching For The Sun

Flowers in the PNW are so amazing, pretty much year round.
This year the sun has been more prevalent than usual so the flowers are going crazy, I love it.

They look a little spindly here, but they've reallly filled in and there are tons now! Hope they last long enough for my parents visit. My mom likes daisies too.

New Lens

So I bought myself a new lens for my camera and looking through it while taking the pics I don't notice much difference, but after I download them the DOF is off-the-hook! YAY!

Finally sun and very little wind and I grabbed a few shots of the lovely cherry blossoms in my neighborhood.

Yellow

I used to really dislike the color yellow but I've grown to like it over the years. I don't think I own any yellow clothing except 2 dresses that have yellow on them. But yellow things I do kind of like, especially flowers.

Sunflower - SOOC

SOOC is an acronym for Straight Out Of Camera. No editing at all. I usually feel pretty good when I can take a great photo that looks just right, SOOC. Hope you like it too. (are you tired of sunflowers yet?)

There is just something about sunflowers that I really love, maybe because they're so huge, and colorful. Je ne sais quois.

Found these on school grounds. Took several in black and white - not on purpose, then decided I liked them too.

Cropping

I am really bad at cropping my photos. So I've decided to try some new stuff, go more extreme and see how they turn out. Here are my first efforts.

You Capture - Black and White

I took this photos by accident actually, but kind of liked it so I'm using for my You Capture photo this week. I found a great local hiking book, and we've been doing one each week. Last week's hike was the West Hylebos Wetlands hike. Great fun for us all. Hope you enjoy the picture.
